Chewing Gum

Freeze with gum removal spray, chip away with bone scraper or dull knife blade.

Waxes

Crayons, beeswax, candle wax

First remove excess with dull knife blade.  Use medium-hot iron over absorbent cloth.  Repeat, if necessary.

Special

Burns, surface burns, deep burns

Remove ashes with brush or steel wool.  Apply glue and add carpet tufts from out-of-the-way area and allow to dry

Permanent inks, rust

Apply 1:1 white vinegar-water solution, absorb with cloth.  Rinse and dry.

Wicking yellow, brown discoloration

Apply 1:1 white vinegar-water solution, absorb with cloth.  Rinse and dry.

Unknown stains

Use solvent cleaner as in oil-based (above).  If necessary, follow with shampoo solution as in staining soils (above).

SPOTTERS:  Aerosol germicidal cleaner;  shampoo or extractor solution (when recommended);  solvent cleaner;  chewing gum remover.

SHAMPOOS AND CLEANERS:  Carpet shampoo, soil retardant, extractor detergent, carpet deodorant.

EQUIPMENT:  Floor machine w/solution tank and fountain brush;  hot water extractor.
