Corn broom filament - When referring to corn broom
filament we are referring to the corn like substance the broom head is made of.
It is a common misconception that all corn broom heads are made from corn type
fibers. In today's market corn broom heads have to perform many different
jobs. Today's
corn brooms are constructed from fibers that can withstand oil, liquids or
hold up to constant use. Here are some fibers corn brooms are made from:

Corn stalk - Corn stalk brooms are made for light to
medium duty sweeping.

Palmyra filament - Palmyra corn brooms are made for
medium to heavy duty sweeping wet or dry.

African bass fiber - Super heavy duty broom filament
for used for heavy duty sweeping. This fiber can be used on liquids,
chemicals and larger debris.
Another factor in choosing the right corn broom is
how many bands of stitching secure the sweeping fibers to the handle. Rows
of stitching can range from 1 to 8 rows, brooms that contain the most lines of
stitching are generally classed as a heavier duty broom. Wire can also be
incorporated into the stitching to give even more strength.
