As simple rule when using floor pads to to know
exactly what each color floor pad is used for and what speed the floor pad is
meant to run at. There are many different types of floor pads from many
different floor pad manufacturers. Each manufacturer color codes there
floor pads to the specific task it is to perform. Even though every
manufacturer uses its own color code there are some basic standards among color
in the floor pad industry. The general rule of thumb that the darker color pad
is usually the more coarse pad. Here are the suggested uses for the basic
floor pad colors:

White Floor Pads - White Polishing Floor
Pad- Light dry polishing or light water spray for high gloss.

Red Floor Pad - Red Buffing-For spray
buffing, cleaning and polishing.

Blue Floor Pad - Blue Scrubbing-For
scrubbing or heavy-duty spray cleaning. Removes soiled top layers of finish.

Green Floor Pad - Green Scrubbing-ideal
for heavy-duty scrubbing or light stripping.

Brown Floor Pad - Brown stripping for
heavy duty stripping, wet or dry.

Black Floor Pad - Black Stripping-For
heavy-duty stripping
Ultra high speed floor pads are used on floor
burnishers and floor polishing machines. These machines spin the floor pad
at a high rate of speed usually 800 rpms or above. High speed buffing is a
great way to get a high gloss shine on your floor. Here are some basic
high speed floor pad color definitions:

Beige High Speed Floor Pads -
Beige-Burnishing pad for soft buffable finishes, all speeds.

Ultra Champagne High Speed Floor Pads -
Ultra Champagne-For high gloss, all speeds. Rubberized hinders.

Neutral Hair High Speed Floor Pads -
Natural Hair----Animal hair and polyester fiber blend. Rubberized binder
prevents dusting and provides longer pad life.

Natural Hair Extra High Speed Floor Pads -
Natural Hair Extra-Greater percentage of animal hair in blend and harder binder
provide for a more aggressive hair pad.
