Weekly Shower Room Cleaning with Foam Gun
Weekly Shower Room Cleaning with Foam Gun Recommended Supplies and Cleaning Equipment: Soap – Total Body Shampoo Foaming Shower Cleaner Clinging Acid Cleaner Stainless Steel Cleaner – Liquid/Aerosol Wall Mop, Frame, Handle Deck Brush (Plastic) Foam Gun Water Hose and Connectors Wiping Material – Rags, Paper Towels, Sponge, etc. Rubber Gloves, Boots, Jacket, Hat Face Mask, Goggles Caution Sign(s) Mildly Abrasive Pad Comments: In spite of the daily cleaning procedure with an EPA registered cleaner/disinfectant, there will be a build up of lime (mineral) and soap scum deposits (alkaline soils). This requires a separate procedure with a safe acid to rejuvenate the surface back to its original state. The recommended frequency of one week could be reduced to every 2nd, 3rd or 4th week, or increased to every 4th, 5th or 6th day, depending on the requirements of the particular institution. Recommended Method: As in all cleaning procedures, the first step is to gather the recommended cleaning equipment together, check the cart supplies and proceed to the area to be cleaned. Set up caution signs. Wear gloves and any other protective cleaning equipment recommended and/or required. Check with your supervisor. Discard used articles and soap. Set up foam gun for the proper dilution with the foaming shower cleaner. Using the foam gun, apply solution to fixtures and walls, starting at the bottom and working up to the top. Allow to set on the walls for ten (10) minutes. Lightly agitate with the wall mop. Then rinse the walls and fixtures with plenty of fresh water. Follow the same procedure as above for the floor, agitating with the deck brush. Rinse the floor thoroughly with plenty of fresh water. Allow time for floor and walls to dry. Wipe the plastic shower curtain or sliding door with a damp sponge or cloth to remove soap and water spots. Change cloth shower curtains when they are soiled. Clean sliding glass or plastic shower doors with a solution of foaming shower cleaner and wipe them dry, including the metal frame. Make sure no water or debris is left in the groove where the door slides. Clean all bath fixtures, such as soap dishes, grab bars, faucets, shower head, chain and waste plug. Use the same solution of foaming shower cleaner and procedure as for other fixtures in the bathroom. Wipe and dry them with a clean cloth. Clean bath and safety mats. Use a solution of foaming shower cleaner to kill fungus and mold. Inspect your work, and then reopen the shower room. Wash the cleaning equipment thoroughly and return to storage area.
